High Crime

High Crime (original Italian title: La polizia incrimina la legge assolve) is a 1973 Italian-Spanish poliziottesco directed by Enzo G. Castellari, starring Franco Nero, James Whitmore, Delia Boccardo and Fernando Rey.

The screenplay was written by Tito Carpi, Gianfranco Clerici and Castellari himself, from a story concept by Maurizio Amati. A major financial success on its release, the film helped popularize the Italian cop thriller genre and is regarded as one of the finest police films of its kind, exerting a significant influence on many later works.
