Nada

Nada, known in the United States as The Nada Gang, is a 1974 Franco-Italian political thriller directed by Claude Chabrol and adapted from Jean-Patrick Manchette's novel of the same name, with Fabio Testi in the leading role. The story centers on a small anarchist cell that abducts the American ambassador stationed in France. The kidnapping provokes a merciless response from the state, and as police close in on the group, neither side hesitates to escalate the violence without restraint. Faithful to the outlook of Manchette's book, the film portrays militant left-wing violence and official state violence as the twin jaws of a single trap. Chabrol departs from his customary psychological dramas here, favoring the raw, hard-edged style of Italian poliziottesco crime pictures to deliver a bleak political thriller.
