The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Narnia Günlükleri: Aslan, Cadı ve Dolap)

Movie · 2005 · 2 people

Directed by Andrew Adamson, this 2005 fantasy adventure adapts the first published novel in C. S. Lewis's beloved Chronicles of Narnia series. During the Blitz, four British siblings — Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie — are evacuated to a professor's country house, where the youngest discovers an old wardrobe that serves as a gateway to Narnia, a magical land locked in eternal winter. This realm of talking beasts suffers under the rule of Jadis, the White Witch (Tilda Swinton), and the children join forces with the noble lion Aslan to challenge her power. Co-produced by Walden Media and Walt Disney Pictures, the film opened in December 2005 to generally positive reviews and grossed more than $745 million worldwide, ranking among the year's biggest box-office successes. It won the Academy Award for Best Makeup and launched a film series continued by Prince Caspian (2008) and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010).
