Michael Madsen — Biography

Born September 25, 1957, in Chicago and gone July 3, 2025, in Malibu, Michael Søren Madsen worked as a film and television actor and, at times, a producer. He got his start with the Steppenwolf theatre ensemble in Chicago, where he worked alongside John Malkovich. A long collaboration with director Quentin Tarantino made him widely recognizable, most notably as Mr. Blonde in Reservoir Dogs and as Budd in the Kill Bill saga. He appeared in numerous other productions, among them Donnie Brasco, Sin City, Free Willy, Frankenstein, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and BloodRayne. He also lent his voice to Grand Theft Auto III, the Dishonored game franchise, and other titles. He had six children, and his sister Virginia Madsen is likewise an actress.
