Frankenstein
Frankenstein is a 2004 American science fiction horror television film directed and produced by Marcus Nispel from a screenplay by John Shiban. Loosely drawn from Mary Shelley's classic novel, it relocates the tale to present-day New Orleans. Parker Posey plays a police detective hunting a serial killer (Thomas Kretschmann), and she receives help in her search from one of the killer's own creations, portrayed by Vincent Perez. Adam Goldberg, Ivana Miličević and Michael Madsen appear in supporting roles. The film aired on the USA Network on October 10, 2004. It was conceived as the pilot for an ongoing series based on a concept by Dean Koontz, but after the network and producers demanded substantial changes, Koontz lost interest, withdrew from the project, and eventually turned his original pitch into the book series Dean Koontz's Frankenstein. The planned series never materialized.
