Blueberry

Blueberry (Blueberry, l'expérience secrète in France, distributed as Renegade in certain territories) is a 2004 psychedelic Western directed by Jan Kounen and produced jointly by France, the United Kingdom and Mexico. The film is a loose adaptation of the Franco-Belgian comic series written by Jean-Michel Charlier and drawn by Jean Giraud, better known as Moebius, and it departs considerably from that source. The story unfolds in 1870s America: Civil War veteran Mike S. Blueberry (Vincent Cassel) serves as the marshal of the town of Palomito. His hunt for Wally Blount, an enigmatic killer after the gold buried on Native land, leads him into a shamanic, otherworldly journey deep into his own subconscious. Despite being a French production, it was shot in English to match its Wild West backdrop. Cassel is joined by Michael Madsen, Juliette Lewis, Djimon Hounsou, Temuera Morrison, Tchéky Karyo and Ernest Borgnine. The film met mostly unfavorable reviews and failed commercially.
