Niyazi Gul, the Galloping Vet (Niyazi Gül Dörtnala)

Niyazi Gül Dörtnala is a 2015 Turkish comedy film directed by Hakan Algül from a screenplay co-written by Ata Demirer and Vedat Özdemiroğlu. Released on 8 May 2015, the 106-minute film stars Ata Demirer alongside Demet Akbağ, Şebnem Bozoklu, Levent Ülgen, Ayşenil Şamlıoğlu, and Ferit Kaya. The title character is one of the first established personas Demirer performed in sketches on Korsan TV years earlier, now brought to the big screen.

The film follows Niyazi Gül, an eccentric veterinary professor who has understood the language of all animals, large and small, since childhood and firmly opposes hunting and cruelty to animals. Living a quiet life in İzmir with his assistant Hediye, he works on a herbal formula that boosts animal performance while leaving no trace in the blood; his grandfather passed the recipe to him on his deathbed but died before revealing its final ingredient. Niyazi's modest routine is turned upside down when Sultan Şahmerdan and Rıza Kabakoz bet on racing their horses.
