Perfect Strangers

Perfect Strangers (Perfetti sconosciuti) is a 2016 Italian comedy-drama directed and co-written by Paolo Genovese. Seven close friends gather for a dinner party and, in the middle of a relaxed evening, agree to a daring game: everyone places their mobile phone on the table, and every message, call and email that arrives must be shared openly with the whole group. What begins as harmless fun steadily turns tense, as each ringing phone exposes hidden affairs, secrets and lies, testing the bonds between the couples and friends. The ensemble cast includes Giuseppe Battiston, Anna Foglietta, Marco Giallini, Edoardo Leo, Valerio Mastandrea, Alba Rohrwacher and Kasia Smutniak. Released in Italy on 11 February 2016, the film won the David di Donatello for Best Film and grossed over €16 million domestically. It has since been remade in more than twenty countries, earning a Guinness World Record as the most remade film in cinema history.
