Prickly Pears

Prickly Pears (original title: Fico d'India) is an Italian comedy directed by Steno. Renato Pozzetto and Gloria Guida head the cast, which also features Aldo Maccione, Diego Abatantuono and Gianfranco Barra in supporting parts. Steno co-wrote the screenplay with Pozzetto and Enrico Vanzina. Shot in Italian, the picture played in Italian cinemas and later reached international audiences under various localized titles. Built around the comic talents of its star, it ranks among the characteristic popular comedies that Italian cinema produced in this period.
