Prince Valiant

Prince Valiant is a 1997 independent sword-and-sorcery adventure film directed by Anthony Hickox, produced as a co-production between the United Kingdom, Germany and Ireland. It is a loose adaptation of Hal Foster's long-running Prince Valiant comic strip, some panels of which were used directly in the film. The cast includes Stephen Moyer, Katherine Heigl, Thomas Kretschmann, Joanna Lumley, Ron Perlman, Udo Kier and Edward Fox.

In the story, Morgan Le Fey, King Arthur's wicked sister, has Viking soldiers steal Excalibur from Camelot so she can obtain a book of the world's most powerful spells. When Sir Gawain is wounded during the Round Table tournaments, the young Valiant takes up his cause, battling the Vikings and the scheming sorceress to recover the stolen sword and save the kingdom.
