Promised Land

Promised Land is a 2004 French-Israeli drama directed by Amos Gitai, starring Rosamund Pike, Diana Bespechni, and Hanna Schygulla. It follows a group of young women from Eastern Europe who are smuggled into Israel and forced into prostitution.

The film is the opening chapter of Gitai's "Frontier" trilogy and had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. Gitai remarked that if the film managed to deter even a single man from visiting prostitutes, he would consider it a success.
