Schlingensief - A Voice that Shook the Silence is a 2020 German documentary directed by Bettina Böhler. The film paints a portrait of director and artist Christoph Schlingensief, whose provocative work shaped cultural and political debate in Germany over several decades. Drawing on archive material and testimony from collaborators and contemporaries such as Margit Carstensen, Irm Hermann, Udo Kier, Sophie Rois and Tilda Swinton, the documentary traces a career that moved between theatre, cinema and political activism. It premiered on 21 February 2020 at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival and opened in German cinemas on 20 August 2020.
