The story follows Asya, a village girl, and İlyas, a truck driver from Istanbul, whose love blossoms in a village where a dam is under construction. When İlyas falls into depression after his work collapses and abandons the family, Asya takes to the road with her young son Samet and builds a new life with the kind-hearted Cemşit, who opens his home to them. İlyas's return years later forces Asya to choose between her great love and the man who stood by her in hard times. The film won three awards, including Second Best Film, at the 15th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, and earned Şoray the Best Actress award at the 1978 Tashkent Film Festival.
