Something Fishy

Something Fishy, originally titled Pas très catholique, is a 1994 French comedy-drama film written and directed by Tonie Marshall. The roughly 100-minute French-language production was selected for the competition section of the 44th Berlin International Film Festival.

At the heart of the story is Maxime Chabrier, a private detective who years earlier walked out on her husband and child, breaking with her bourgeois circle to build a bohemian life of her own. Asked by her boss to train a newly hired woman, Maxime takes on a real estate fraud and murder investigation that unexpectedly brings her face to face with her ex-husband and son after many years. Anémone stars as Maxime, with a supporting cast that includes Grégoire Colin, Michel Roux, Christine Boisson, Denis Podalydès and Micheline Presle.
