Last Action Hero (Son Kahraman)

Movie · 1993 · 2 people

In Last Action Hero, Danny Madigan is a young boy obsessed with action movies, especially the Jack Slater franchise. When his friend Nick, who works at a cinema, hands him a magic ticket, Danny is suddenly transported into the on-screen world of his hero. Jack Slater, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, is a Los Angeles police detective who embodies every cliché of the action genre. The thrill of living inside a movie fades when Slater's ruthless enemy, the assassin Benedict, gets hold of the magic ticket and escapes into the real world. There he plots to kill the actor who portrays Slater, which would erase the hero from existence. Danny and Slater must team up to stop him in a wild chase that blurs the line between fiction and reality. Directed by John McTiernan and released by Columbia Pictures in 1993, the film is a satire of action cinema and its tropes, with Schwarzenegger also appearing as himself. Though it disappointed critics and the studio at the box office, it later became a cult classic.
