Summer Solstice

Summer Solstice (German: Becks letzter Sommer) is a 2015 German tragicomedy directed by Frieder Wittich, adapted from the novel of the same name by Benedict Wells. The story follows Robert Beck, a disillusioned music teacher who once had a promising career as a musician, as he forms an unexpected bond with Rauli, a gifted young guitarist at his school. The boy's passion for music forces Beck to confront his own past and rethink his life. Christian Ulmen and Lucas Reiber star in the leading roles, with Friederike Becht, Nahuel Pérez Biscayart and Vedat Erincin in supporting parts. The 98-minute film was co-written by Wittich and Oliver Ziegenbalg.
