The story marks the thirteenth case of Kriminalhauptkommissar Eugen Lutz, played by Werner Schumacher. When a young man is murdered, Lutz's investigation reveals that the victim had become entangled in a protection racket that extorted money from restaurant owners. To solve the killing, the detective must work through the web of extortion and trace who profited from the young man's death.
