The Actress

The Actress (original title: Die Schauspielerin) is a 1988 East German drama film directed by Siegfried Kühn and produced by the state-run DEFA studio. It is an adaptation of Hedda Zinner's 1984 novel Arrangement mit dem Tod (Arrangement with Death). Starring Corinna Harfouch and Michael Gwisdek, the film became one of the biggest box-office successes of East German cinema in the 1980s.
