The Butterfly

The Butterfly (Le Papillon in its original French) is a 2002 French comedy-drama film written and directed by Philippe Muyl. It was released in France on 18 December 2002. The film stars veteran actor Michel Serrault alongside young Claire Bouanich, with supporting roles from Jacky Nercessian, Hélène Hily, Jacques Bouanich, Nade Dieu and Françoise Michaud. Running about 85 minutes, the French-language production features a musical score by Nicolas Errèra. It stands as an example of the gentle, character-driven comedy-dramas produced in French cinema at the start of the 2000s.
