The Five Man Army

The Five Man Army (original title: Un esercito di 5 uomini) is a 1969 Italian Spaghetti Western set during the Mexican Revolution. A band of five men, each bringing a distinct set of skills, is recruited to carry out an audacious heist: stealing a large shipment of gold from a heavily guarded military train. Despite the odds stacked against them, the group relies on individual talents ranging from explosives expertise to martial arts to pull off the seemingly impossible robbery.

The film was directed by Don Taylor and Italo Zingarelli, with a screenplay by a young Dario Argento, who would later become famous as a master of horror and thriller cinema; Argento is also said to have directed some sequences without credit. The score was composed by Ennio Morricone, and Enzo Barboni served as cinematographer. The international cast includes Peter Graves, Bud Spencer, Nino Castelnuovo, and Tetsurō Tamba.
