Daniela Giordano — Biography

Daniela Giordano was born in Palermo on 7 November 1947 and became known as an actress and model chiefly linked to Italian exploitation pictures of the late 1960s and 1970s. She made her screen debut in 1967 in Marcello Ciorciolini's I barbieri di Sicilia, appearing alongside the comic duo Franco Franchi and Ciccio Ingrassia, and went on to work across comedies, poliziotteschi, giallo thrillers and spaghetti westerns. Before turning to film she had won local beauty contests in her hometown, was crowned Miss Sicilia and then Miss Italia in 1966, and finished runner-up at the Miss Europe pageant the following year. She stepped away from acting in 1980 with Le segrete esperienze di Luca e Fanny, returning briefly to the screen in 2015 for Erba Celeste. Giordano died in Palermo on 16 December 2022; readers should take care not to mix her up with a separate stage performer and director bearing an identical name.
