The Scorpion

The Scorpion (Aqrab) is a 1996 Iranian crime-action film. Officially credited as a joint directing effort by Behrooz Afkhami and Mohammad-Hossein Farah-Bakhsh, it was written by Naser Shamlou. The production became known for a behind-the-scenes dispute: the credits presented the direction as group work and listed Afkhami merely as a directing consultant. According to Afkhami's own account, however, he actually directed more than seventy percent of the picture before walking away following a falling-out with the producer. The cast includes Hassan Rezaei, Rafi Madadkar, Atila Pesiani, and Jamshid Hashempour.
