Rafi Madadkar — Biography

Rafi Madadkar was an Iranian film actor born in 1935 in Bandar-e Anzali (also written Bender-e Enzeli) on the Caspian coast. He is mostly remembered for the adventure and action pictures of Iranian commercial cinema between the late 1960s and the mid-1970s.

His first film was Dalahoo (1967), followed in 1968 by Ghahreman-ye shahre-ma and Twentieth Century Looti. He worked heavily in the 1970s: Sekke-ye shans (1970), Clowns and The Meeting place of Anger (1971), Asey and A Man for Rent (1972), The Strengthening Sun (1973), High Noon and Majerajooyane khashen (1974), and The Target and The Third Thief (1975) all belong to this period, as does Desert Ghoul (1969).

One of his last films from that era was Yeki khosh seda, yeki khosh dast, made in 1977. After staying away from the screen from the late 1970s until the 1990s, he returned with Bite (1994) and The Scorpion (1996), in which he played a bodyguard. In all he appeared in about seventeen films.
