The Sea Wolf
The Sea Wolf (German: Der Seewolf) is a 2008 German television film adapted from Jack London's celebrated 1904 novel of the same name. Directed by Christoph Schrewe and co-produced by ProSieben, it was first broadcast in two parts on 24 and 25 November 2008. Filming took place in Berlin and in the Bahamas.
Thomas Kretschmann stars as the brutal captain Wolf Larsen, with Florian Stetter as literary critic Humphrey van Weyden and Petra Schmidt-Schaller as Maud Brewster. Schrewe himself described the production as "a Western on the water." Running roughly 180 minutes, the adventure film brings London's harsh, philosophical tale of survival and power at sea to the screen.
