Ali Poyrazoğlu — Biography
Ali Poyrazoğlu (born July 9, 1946, Istanbul) is a versatile performer who began his stage career at the Istanbul City Theatres and went on to work with companies such as Dormen Theatre, Kent Players, Ulvi Uraz Theatre and the Gülriz Sururi-Engin Cezzar Theatre. Alongside film and theatre acting he has also worked as a writer, voice actor and director.
On screen he has appeared in films including "How to Save Asiye" (1986), "9" (2002) and "The Dark Face of the Moon" (2005), and he has lent his voice to the Turkish dubs of numerous animated films, including the Ice Age series and Kung Fu Panda 3. He has served as UNICEF Türkiye Goodwill Ambassador since November 2012.
In the summer of 2026 the 79-year-old actor drew widespread media attention after losing 25 kilograms, a transformation that was widely discussed in the press and on social media.
