Bora Dağtekin is a German screenwriter, director, and producer of Turkish descent, born on 27 October 1978 in Hannover, Germany. Active in the industry since 1994, he is regarded as one of Germany's most commercially successful filmmakers, known for creating some of the best-performing German-language productions of recent decades.
He first reached wide audiences with the 'Türkisch für Anfänger' (Turkish for Beginners) series and film, before directing the 'Fack ju Göhte' (Suck Me Shakespeer) trilogy, which ranks among the highest-grossing films in German cinema history; he also directed 'Das perfekte Geheimnis' and 'Chantal im Märchenland.' Throughout his career he has repeatedly collaborated with actors such as Elyas M'Barek, Jella Haase, and Frederick Lau, and has received a Bavarian TV Award.
