Defne Samyeli — Biography

Defne Samyeli is a Turkish TV presenter, columnist, singer and actress born on July 1, 1972 in İstanbul. After studying at Boğaziçi University, she placed third in a beauty pageant she entered in 1991 and began hosting television programs. In 1994 she released the album Tek Başına, working with Melih Kibar, and then received musical theater and voice training. Moving to Kanal D as a news anchor, Samyeli won many awards in this field and was named the world's best news anchor two years in a row at the New York Festivals. After leaving journalism, she took acting lessons at Atölye Craft, playing Çiğdem in her first series Babam Sınıfta Kaldı; she appeared in Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu, portrayed Siren in İstanbullu Gelin, broadcast on Star TV in 2017, and played Asena in Sol Yanım in 2020.
