Demet Şener — Biography

Born in 1977, Demet Şener graduated from Nişantaşı Girls' High School, began modelling in 1994, was crowned Miss Turkey in 1995 and represented Turkey at Miss World that same year.

She then moved into acting, appearing on screen in Bir Demet Tiyatro and Böyle mi Olacaktı, later in the series Gölge, Aşk Hırsızı and Reyting Hamdi, and in the films Asansör, Kahpe Bizans and Hemşo; she also worked as a television presenter on shows such as Vip Suare and Şans Direksiyonu, and later served as a judge on Fox Tv's fashion programme Stil Avcıları alongside Hakan Akkaya and Uğurkan Erez.

On 15 July 2005 she married national basketball player İbrahim Kutluay at a wedding where the then prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, acted as witness; the couple had two children, İrem and Ömer. She filed for divorce from Kutluay in 2016 citing infidelity, and the divorce was finalised in 2018; she then married businessman Cenk Küpeli in 2019 and separated from him in 2021. After her five-year relationship with Tolga Arman ended in 2026, she said she and Kutluay had grown closer "for our children", and the same year she shared her pride when their son Ömer Kutluay was called up to Turkey's national basketball team.
