Hemsho (Hemşo) (translated)

Hemşo is a 2000 Turkish comedy written and directed by Ömer Uğur, with music composed by Arto Tunçboyacıyan. It reached cinemas on 19 January 2001.

The story follows two men linked by a blood feud whose paths cross in Istanbul. Cebrail sets out after Yaşar, the man entitled to take revenge on him, yet as the two grow closer Yaşar finds himself unable to confess the truth between them. Once everything comes out, each of Cebrail's attempts at settling the score collapses into comic misfortune.

Okan Bayülgen and Mehmet Ali Erbil head the cast, supported by Demet Şener, Sümer Tilmaç, Oya Aydoğan, Yıldız Kaplan, Levent Kazak and Cengiz Küçükayvaz. An age-restriction ruling imposed by the Culture Ministry's supervisory board before release drew protests from producers, who argued that Turkish cinema was being censored.
