Elçin Sangu — Biography

Elçin Sangu is a Turkish actress and model of Circassian descent, born on 13 August 1985 in İzmir. She studied opera at Mersin University and worked on theatre stages before appearing on screen; becoming a sought-after face of advertising campaigns, she was counted among Türkiye's highest-earning celebrities.

Her screen career began in 2011 with Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman Ki, followed by Aşk Kaç Beden Giyer (2012), Bir Aşk Hikâyesi (2013), Kurt Seyit ve Şura (2014) and Sevdam Alabora (2015). Her role as Defne in Kiralık Aşk (2015-2017) earned her numerous awards, including three Golden Butterflies. She moved to cinema with the film Mutluluk Zamanı (2017) alongside Barış Arduç, and went on to appear in Yaşamayanlar (2018, Mia), Çarpışma (2018, Zeynep), 9 Kere Leyla (2020) and Çöp Adam (2022, Peri). In 2025 the action film Uykucu, in which she starred with Çağatay Ulusoy, was released.
