Evrim Akın — Biography

Evrim Sülün Akın was born on 12 June 1979 in Ankara. Originally from İzmir, she began her theatre career as a trainee at the Konak Municipal Theatre and later studied at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center, but had to abandon her education after losing her father at a young age. She is a relative of the renowned poet Gülten Akın.

Akın made her television debut in 1997 with the series Eltiler and went on to appear in productions such as Kimsecikler, İmparator, Nisan Yağmuru, Canım Kocacığım, Şizofren Aşk, Analık and Estağfurullah Yokuşu. She became widely known for her role as Selin Yerebakan in Avrupa Yakası, which began in 2004, and was also beloved as Nana in the 2007 series Bez Bebek. She appeared in the feature films Şaşkın and Köstebekgiller: Perili Orman, took part in Alemin Kıralı and the Güldür Güldür Show, and starred in the 2025 film Sihirli Annem: Hepimiz Biriz.

Alongside acting, Akın worked as a presenter for many years, hosting the programme "Evrim Akın ile Ev Gezmesi" on Kanal D until leaving the show at the end of 2025.
