Evrim Akın — Biography

Born Evrim Sülün Akın in Ankara, she lost her father at a young age and began acting as a trainee at the Konak Municipal Theatre in İzmir before moving to Istanbul to study at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center. She made her screen debut in 1997 with the series Eltiler and went on to appear in productions such as İmparator, Nisan Yağmuru, Canım Kocacığım and Estağfurullah Yokuşu. She found her main fame with the character Selin Yerebakan in the sitcom Avrupa Yakası, which began in 2004 and whose catchphrases became widely quoted, and was also loved for the role of Nana in the 2007 series Bez Bebek. She appeared in the films Şaşkın and Köstebekgiller: Perili Orman, took roles in Alemin Kıralı and Güldür Güldür Show, and featured in the 2025 film Sihirli Annem: Hepimiz Biriz. Alongside acting she worked for years as a television presenter, hosting Evrim Akın ile Ev Gezmesi on Kanal D; she left the programme in December 2025 after former Bez Bebek co-star Asena Keskinci raised mobbing allegations against her, which she publicly denied.
