İclal Aydın — Biography

İclal Aydın does not fit a single profession: she is an actress, presenter, journalist and writer. Many viewers know her as Eda in İki Aile and Behice in Veda, and her books earned her the description "writer of three generations". After a long break she returned to the stage in the 2025-2026 season with the one-woman show Ama Değil, Rağmen.

Her career began on stage. She won a place in the theatre department of Ankara University's Faculty of Language, History and Geography in 1989, left in her second year to settle in Berlin, and worked as a professional stage actress in Germany for six years. Back in Turkey in 1996, she moved into television in 1997, gained popularity in the series Sıcak Saatler, hosted the women's programme "2'den 4'e" on HBB and made radio shows. The programme "Hayat Güzeldir", which she began on BRT in 1999, brought her a Best Morning Programme award in 2000, and the diaries she wrote for it became her first book. Bitmiş Aşklar Emanetçisi, Yaz Bitmesin, Gördüğüme Sevindim and Evlerin Işıkları Bir Bir Yanarken followed, and in 2002 she released "Kızıma", a poetry album dedicated to her daughter.

Her wide acting audience came with İki Aile in 2006-2008, followed by Veda in 2012, Ege'nin Hamsisi in 2018 and later Üç Kız Kardeş. In July 2016 she hosted "İclal Aydın'la Yeniden" on Show TV, which ran for 39 episodes.
