Jasna Diklić — Biography

Jasna Diklić was born on 8 March 1946 in Sarajevo, the daughter of a woman who worked as both an actress and a puppeteer. She trained at the MESS Festival's experimental theatre studio and studied at Sarajevo's Department of Performing Arts before making her professional stage debut at the National Theatre of Banja Luka in 1969.

She soon joined a small Sarajevo theatre now known as Kamerni Teatar 55 and has since appeared in more than 150 stage and screen roles. During the siege of Sarajevo in the Bosnian War, she co-founded the Sarajevo War Theatre, and in 1997 she was named Woman of the Year in Art in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Her film credits include Remake (2003) and As If I Am Not There (2010).
