Remake

Remake is a 2003 Bosnian war drama that marked the feature directing debut of Dino Mustafić. Produced by Enes Cviko and Martine de Clermont-Tonnerre as a Turkish-French co-production, it was written by Zlatko Topčić, who drew on events from his own life.

Based on a true story, the film interweaves the parallel coming-of-age fates of father Ahmed and his son Tarik Karaga — one during World War II in Sarajevo, the other amid the siege of the city in the Bosnian War. It had its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam on January 23, 2003, earned a Special Mention at the 53rd Berlin International Film Festival, and took three prizes at the 2004 Wine Country Film Festival, including Best First Feature and Best Actor for Ermin Bravo. The cast also features Aleksandar Seksan, Emir Hadžihafizbegović, François Berléand and Évelyne Bouix.
