Keremcem — Biography

Born Kerem Cem Dürük on 28 December 1977 (recorded officially as 5 January 1978) in the Milas district of Muğla, Keremcem developed an early interest in music from his father's classical Turkish art- and folk-music collection and began piano lessons at six. He graduated from Ege University's Department of International Relations in 2003 and moved to Istanbul in 2001 at the encouragement of singer Yonca Evcimik.

His 2004 debut album 'Eylül', produced by Aykut Gürel, won him Best Breakthrough Male Artist awards from POPSAV and the Golden Butterflies; 'Aşk Bitti' (2006) earned him Best Male Artist at the Kral TV Video Music Awards. He recorded songs for Disney's High School Musical 2 and 3 soundtracks, performed in Haldun Dormen's musical 'Broadway'den İstanbul'a' in 2006, released the albums 'Dokun' (2009) and 'Hayata' (2011), and completed his military service in 2009-2010.

He began acting in 2002 with 'Kerem ile Aslı', going on to appear in 'Aşk Oyunu', 'Avrupa Yakası', 'Kavak Yelleri', 'Keskin Bıçak', 'Tövbeler Tövbesi', 'Merhaba Hayat', 'İki Yabancı' and 'Elif', and won acclaim as Ateş in 'O Hayat Benim'. He married actress Seda Güven in Paris in 2014 and divorced her in 2015; in 2026 he competed on Survivor and joined the cast of the series 'Doktor Başka Hayatta'.
