Krista Nell — Biography

Krista Nell was an Austrian actress and model who worked in Italian genre cinema in the late 1960s and early 1970s, above all in spaghetti Westerns and Italian sex comedies. Born Doris Kristanel, she became a minor starlet in these films, and died of leukemia in Rome on 19 June 1975, aged twenty-nine.

She began in French cinema and then settled in Rome. Her filmography also includes Çılgın Pierrot (1965) and Your Money or Your Life (1966). In Italy she played Brenda in Ivanhoe, the Norman Swordsman (1971), Molly in Kill Django... Kill First (1971) and Cleo in Django and Sartana Are Coming... It's the End (1970). Alongside the Westerns she appeared in light erotic Italian comedies such as Les libertines (1970) and Le calde notti del Decameron (1972); Decameroticus, Sexy Sinners, So Sweet, So Dead and The Red Headed Corpse are also among her 1972 films.

She was meant to be the lead in her last film, The Bloodsucker Leads the Dance, but took a supporting part because of her physical condition. Nell was the companion of the actor Ettore Manni.
