Seda Sayan — Biography

Seda Sayan, whose real name is Aysel Gürsaçer, was born on 30 December 1962 in the Eyüpsultan district of Istanbul. She began singing in wedding halls, later performing in nightclubs and becoming one of the well-known soloists of her era. Having released numerous albums in the pop-folk style, she also took up acting from the 1980s onwards, appearing in productions such as İmparator and Hababam Sınıfı 3,5. In the later stages of her career she focused on television presenting, hosting many programs, above all Sabahların Sultanı Seda Sayan; she served as a jury member on O Ses Türkiye in 2018-2019 and presented Yemekteyiz in 2019. Married to Çağlar Ökten, the artist also stays in the spotlight with her stage work.
