Seda Sayan — Biography

After training in voice for a time with the singer Cemal Coşar, Seda Sayan's real break came when she rose to headline act at the Stardust club, run by Turgut Akyüz, who was both her boyfriend and the source of her stage name. When Akyüz was killed by Abbas Heybetli at a nightclub in February 1983, film producer Türker İnanoğlu recommended her to Fahrettin Aslan, who had her trained alongside Harika Avcı before putting her on stage at Maksim, the era's most fashionable nightclub.

Over the years she was married to and divorced from Rıdvan Kılıç, Sinan Engin (father of her son Oğulcan), Soner Yapcacık, Tuncay Kıratlı, Gökhan Şükür and Onur Şan, and spent three years with the singer Mahsun Kırmızıgül, before marrying musician Çağlar Ökten in 2022. In 2014 she received a five-year probation term and a judicial fine for insulting the singer Ankaralı Turgut.

She began hosting alongside Osman Yağmurdereli on Kanal 6 in 1992 and took over solo on TGRT in 1996; over the three decades since, she has fronted numerous daytime shows, among them Gelinim Mutfakta, Evleneceksen Gel and Sabahların Sultanı Seda Sayan, sat on the judging panel of O Ses Türkiye and hosted Yemekteyiz, and in 2025 began presenting Seda Sayan ile Her Şey Masada.
