A Man in the Cage

A Man in the Cage (Persian: مردی در قفس) is an Iranian feature film completed in the 1965-1966 period. It was directed by Nosratollah Vahdat, who also worked as an actor and singer, and written by Azizaleh Bahadori. The picture dates from the era of commercially oriented film production that flourished in Iran before the 1979 revolution.

The leading roles are played by Mansour Sepehrnia and Pouri Banayi. Banayi appeared in a great many productions during the 1960s and 1970s and became one of the most prominent actresses of Iranian cinema in that period. Vahdat himself also took an acting role in the film. Shot in Persian, the film is recorded as having been finished in the Iranian calendar year 1344.
