Almas 33

Almas 33 is a 1967 Iranian adventure film with drama and thriller elements, notable as the directorial debut of Dariush Mehrjui, who would go on to become one of the defining figures of Iranian cinema. Shot in color and widescreen (Technicolor, Techniscope) — a rarity for Iranian productions of the era — the Persian-language film runs about 120 minutes.

The screenplay was written jointly by Mehrjui and actor Reza Fazeli, who proposed the project, adapting Kazem Salahshour's short story "Jin Band 2008". The picture was produced at Studio Plaza, with Fazeli and studio manager Nosratollah Montakheb Tehrani serving as producers.

The cast is led by Reza Fazeli and Jangir Gaffari (Cihangir Gaffari), joined by Hamideh Kheirabadi, Katayoun Amirebrahimi, Dariush Talayi and Taghi Zohouri, while American actress Nancy Kovack also appears in the film.
