Desire
Désiré is a French comedy from 1996, directed by Bernard Murat, with Jean-Paul Belmondo and Fanny Ardant heading the cast. The screenplay draws on Sacha Guitry's 1927 stage play of the same title, making the picture a new screen version of the 1937 film adapted from that play. It premiered in France on 10 April 1996 and has a running time of roughly 93 minutes. Around the two leads, the ensemble features well-known French performers such as Claude Rich, Béatrice Dalle, Dominique Lavanant and Jean Yanne. True to its theatrical origins, the film delivers a light, talk-driven farce built on Guitry's trademark wit.
