The Night, Angel and Our Children (Gece, Melek ve Bizim Çocuklar)

Directed by Atıf Yılmaz and written by Yıldırım Türker, the 1993 Turkish drama Gece, Melek ve Bizim Çocuklar was released on April 1, 1994. Set in the back streets of Istanbul around Beyoğlu and Taksim, it paints a melancholy portrait through characters such as the young sex worker Serap, the handsome Hakan who is both her lover and her pimp, Hakan's wealthy male lover, and the aging prostitute Melek. Around a central theme of love, the film depicts the social lives of transgender and sex worker individuals, drug dealers, and gay people struggling to survive in a society that marginalizes them.

The production was realized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's General Directorate of Copyrights and Cinema, with contributions from the Beyoğlu police, Kanal 6 television, and the Divan Hotel. Produced by Yeşilçam Film, the film features music by Gökhan Kırdar and cinematography by İzzet Akay. The cast includes Derya Arbaş, Deniz Türkali, Uzay Heparı, and Cengiz Sezici.
