Hilafet (TV dizisi)

Hilafet (original title Kalifat, English Caliphate) is an eight-part series that premiered on Sweden's SVT in 2020. Directed by Goran Kapetanović, it weaves together the stories of several young women whose lives become entangled with ISIS: a security service agent, a young woman drawn into radicalisation, and a high-school student groomed online. Gizem Erdoğan plays Pervin, a woman persuaded to travel to Syria, a performance that won her the Kristallen award for Best Actress in Sweden. The series became the most-watched title on SVT Play at the time and drew wide attention for its unflinching subject matter.
