Gizem Erdoğan — Biography

Gizem Suna Kling Erdoğan was born on April 30, 1987, in Högsbo, part of Gothenburg, Sweden. A Swedish actress of Turkish descent, she trained at Fridhems Folkhögskola before continuing her studies at the Malmö Theatre Academy.

She is best known internationally for playing Pervin El Kaddouri in the series Caliphate (Kalifat), a role that earned her a Guldbagge Award nomination. Her credits also include the series Love & Anarchy, Thin Blue Line, and Hidden, along with the films Beyond Dreams (2017), Sorry Not Sorry (2019), My Life as a Comedian (2019), and The Home (2025).

Working across both Swedish and international productions, Erdoğan has built a reputation for taking on a wide range of roles.
