The Queen (Kraliçe)

Kraliçe (The Queen) is a Turkish drama series produced by Mednova, which began airing on Kanal D on March 22, 2023. Directed by Cevdet Mercan and Serhan Şahin, the show is an adaptation of the American series Queen Sugar.

The story follows Deniz and Ateş Akça, a couple whose lives are turned upside down when Ateş, a famous basketball player, becomes embroiled in a sex scandal. At the same time, Deniz loses her beloved father and, reuniting with her estranged siblings at the funeral, discovers that he had been in serious financial trouble. Together with her daughter, Deniz moves to her father's village, where she tries to save the family farm while healing from her husband's betrayal. Ateş, meanwhile, fights to prove his innocence and win back the love of his wife and daughter.

Starring Burcu Özberk, Gökhan Alkan, Selin Şekerci and Özgün Karaman, the series ran for a single season and concluded with its eleventh episode on June 7, 2023.
