The Edifying and Joyous Story of Colinot (L'Histoire très bonne et très joyeuse de Colinot Trousse-Chemise)

Movie · 1973 · 2 people

This 1973 French comedy was written and directed by Nina Companéez. Francis Huster stars in the title role of Colinot, supported by a cast that includes Bernadette Lafont, Rufus, Nathalie Delon and Francis Blanche. Running roughly 105 minutes, the film is a lighthearted period comedy in Companéez's characteristic style. Its greatest claim to fame, however, is that it marks the final screen appearance of Brigitte Bardot. The legendary actress retired from the entertainment industry altogether while the film was still in post-production and never returned to acting, making this picture the closing chapter of her celebrated career. That distinction has kept the film in the public memory far beyond its original release.
