La Bête de miséricorde

La Bête de miséricorde is a 2001 French comedy-drama film directed by Jean-Pierre Mocky. It is adapted from the novel of the same name by the American writer Fredric Brown, originally published in English as The Lenient Beast, with André Ruellan and Mocky himself contributing to the screenplay alongside Brown's source work. The cast includes Dominique Zardi and Sacha Bourdo among its ensemble. A late-career entry in Mocky's extensive filmography, the picture belongs to the provocative, satirical vein for which the prolific French filmmaker was known.
