Sacha Bourdo — Biography
Sacha Bourdo, born Aleksandr Burdo, is a French actor born in Russia, who also works as a musician. He is best known for the films of Michel Gondry and for Western, the film that launched his screen career. Appearing in three Gondry films made his name a familiar one to cinema-goers.
In 1997 he made his screen debut in Manuel Poirier's Western, playing Nino. That first role earned him a César nomination for Most Promising Actor. He then took supporting and character parts in French cinema: Jeff in Freeway Rhapsody (2000), the windscreen washer in The Race (2002) and Niko in Bazar (2009). On television he appeared in the series adaptation of Les Misérables. His performance as a Soviet soldier in the war in Afghanistan in the 2006 film L'étoile du soldat also drew praise.
His work with Michel Gondry began with The Science of Sleep (2006, released in Turkey as Rüya Bilmecesi) and continued with Be Kind Rewind (Lütfen Başa Sarın, released in Turkey in 2008) and Mood Indigo (Günlerin Köpüğü, 2013). He is also in the cast of Gondry's Microbe and Gasoline. His filmography also lists Pigalle, la nuit (2009) and Les Parfums.
