Movie · 1964 · 2 people

La vendetta dei gladiatori is a 1964 Italian adventure film directed by Luigi Capuano from a screenplay by Arpad De Riso and Roberto Gianviti. It belongs to the sword-and-sandal cycle that Italian studios produced in great numbers during that decade. American actor Mickey Hargitay and José Greci head the cast, which also includes familiar character performers of the period such as Livio Lorenzon, Renato Baldini, Roldano Lupi, Andrea Checchi, Mirko Ellis, Dante Maggio, Giovanni Cianfriglia and Benito Stefanelli. Running roughly 98 minutes, the picture tells a story of vengeance set in the ancient Roman world, following the customary conventions of the peplum genre. The production reached international audiences under several alternative titles, appearing in France as La Vengeance des gladiateurs and in Germany as Die 6 Unbesiegbaren.
