Liza

Liza (original title: La cagna) is a 1972 French-Italian drama film directed by Marco Ferreri. It is based on Melampus, a 1970 work by Ennio Flaiano, who also contributed to the screenplay alongside Jean-Claude Carrière and Ferreri himself.

The film stars Catherine Deneuve and Marcello Mastroianni in the leading roles and premiered on 3 May 1972. Shot in Italian, it is also known in Germany as Allein mit Giorgio. With a running time of about 100 minutes, the film brings together two celebrated stars of European cinema under Ferreri's distinctive direction.
