Lucky

Fortunata is a 2017 Italian drama directed by Sergio Castellitto, who co-wrote the screenplay with Margaret Mazzantini. The film follows a young woman trying to rebuild her life after the wreckage of a difficult marriage. Drawing strength from her little daughter, Fortunata dreams of opening her own hair salon while struggling to stand her ground and find happiness despite the obstacles placed before her.

Jasmine Trinca leads the cast, which also includes Stefano Accorsi, Alessandro Borghi and Hanna Schygulla. The film competed in the Un Certain Regard section of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, where Trinca received the Un Certain Regard Jury Award for Best Performance for her role.
